About the Artist/Statement
The work I create in conjunction with Spirit explores various themes of surrealism, spirituality, femininity, nature, and consciousness. I work in fields of writing, music, and visual art; both analog and digital. I primarily use traditional methods of creation; whatever feels most authentic. I enjoy the rawness of life and experience.
My writing is often provocative and portrays a distinct connection to nature. I enjoy the challenge of a story and how one can produce metaphor for society, life, and Being in a way that traverses through history and the personal experience of the Self. I am often looking to nature and the internal framework that is within me, as we are all one piece of this grandeur of the tapestry of life; I find my most profound understandings to be internal as I reflect upon the mirror of the external (nature).
When I paint or draw I primarily use mediums of charcoal, pastels and chalk, graphite, watercolor, colored pencils, and various printmaking techniques, but sometimes my experimental nature calls for alternatives. My work exhibits my mind in a way that is mostly surreal, but at times touches the malleable framework that asks about love, existence, and peace.
My music mostly consists of classical guitar, piano, and vocalized poetry. At times I use variants of electronic sounds, and have experimented with other instruments, or whatever I can get my hands on. I maintain a boundary of minimal edits because I believe authenticity in this field is of utmost importance. I always tune my projects to 432htz.
The taboo of existing in a period where I am able to explore all of these processes is in many ways shaped to the connection I have as a woman of renaissance and enlightenment. I am a pacifist and a believer in world communion. I am inspired by the people I meet in this walk of life, as well as all the stories that have been told of the past. Specifically, I enjoy fairytale-esk works, our ancient cultures and ancestors, the Baroque period, 19th century literature, religious influenced art and histories of various cultures, dreams and spirituality related to dreamworlds, Buddhism, Native American culture, the study of trees and plants, as well as the rich history of the Felidae pyramid. I am often also deeply inspired by birds of flight.
I am a student of the Earth and I will forever walk and create to serve her.
